Hi there! My name is April White and it’s my passion and my ministry to inspire moms to lead a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
Let me start at the beginning. . .
Nine years ago, I knew less than nothing about raising a healthy family. Quite frankly, I wasn’t even sure I would ever have a family, and I didn’t always follow the Lord. I didn’t even know how at that time. But I now believe that God directs us to certain paths, and if we allow him to lead, He can use our biggest heartaches to be blessings to others. God did just that for me.
In the course of one year and a half, I lost a best friend to colon cancer, and my daughter was diagnosed with a scary autoimmune condition. My life felt profoundly turned upside down. But through this whirlwind, my beautiful friend, Amanda Lanier, taught me some unforgettable lessons about trusting the Lord and hearing His divine guidance.
Our journeys began to intertwine.
He started to use my family’s slow journey into whole health and healing to push me further into a ministry– a passion that she, too, was feeling called to before she passed. We often both said, “All this can’t be for nothing!” We wanted to share all that we had learned along the way– how to use healing nutrition and prayer for a more healthy and balanced life that all God’s children deserve.
As a new mom and a new Christian, I came to my friend with every parenting question. She spoke with such wisdom and truth, and she always had a funny personal story on tap to bring things back into focus. I think all moms need some of that. Moms who are trying to be everything to everyone sometimes need someone to speak life into them just as my friend always did for me.
My greatest heartbreaks have led me to my greatest callings.
A restless stirring began in my heart as I started to feel that there had to be more to life than just surviving and parenting like my hair was on fire. I knew that we couldn’t possibly be living our best life—the life of abundance and peace and health that God wants for all of us. I knew that had to change, and I want to share with you how you can make that change too with slow, manageable steps and a lot of grace from Him.
Through endless research, tearful prayers, and a lot of humility, I’ve learned some hard truths as well as poignant lessons about motherhood, health, and healing, and I’m determined to shout from the rooftops to anyone who will hear about the things I’ve uncovered along the way. I’m a high school English and drama teacher by trade, and teaching is in my heart. But suddenly, there seem bigger lessons to discuss than Shakespeare.
God is placing my family exactly where He wants us at this time!
I’ve always told my drama students that an amazing show will take you for a ride. You’ll laugh and cry. You’ll be on the edge of your seat. By the end of the show, you will be downright exhausted from the journey. Well, I can say these last eight years have done just that. It’s been an emotional ride. Although exhausted and changed, I am ultimately fulfilled to be serving my Lord, giving my whole heart to raising my children the best I know how, and honoring my beautiful friend every chance I get.
I dedicate this blog to my sister in Christ, Amanda Lanier, to PANDAS/PANS warriors, and to the Lord who I hope to serve with my words. May they fall on the right ears to bring peace, healing, and a sense of humor to this wild ride.
